Our Initiatives

DIRT-STAINED ROSES is rooted in community, visibility, and social justice. As part of our commitment to creating impact beyond the screen, we’ve launched a series of initiatives designed to empower emerging storytellers and expand access to the arts.

These include the DSR Scholarship Program, Internship & Mentorship Initiative, DSR Reading Program, and DSR Screenwriting Program—each created to nurture
talent, inspire creativity, and invest in the next generation of changemakers.

In addition to our in-house programs, DSR regularly engages in community outreach projects, partnering with organizations that serve underserved communities and champion equity on the ground.

DSR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Dirt-Stained Roses Scholarship Program is dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities by providing financial support to emerging artists pursuing their creative goals.

The program’s inaugural recipients were students at Sierra Leone’s Adisa Baba Drama Academy, where the scholarship helped over 20 students cover school
fees and fund their theatrical productions—making it possible for them to express their artistry and share their stories on stage.

Through this initiative, DSR continues to invest in the next generation of storytellers, ensuring that talent is nurtured regardless of background or
circumstance.

INTERNSHIP & MENTORSHIP INITIATIVES

The DSR Internship & Mentorship Initiative is a collaborative program designed to cultivate the talents of emerging creatives and aspiring
professionals. Through hands-on experience and personalized mentorship, participants gain industry insight, strengthen their skill sets, and build
professional portfolios.

Open to students and recent graduates ages 18–24, this five-month-long program selects one intern per cycle to contribute meaningfully to Dirt-Stained
Roses productions, brand-building projects, and community-based initiatives.

More than an internship—it’s a launchpad for future leaders in storytelling and social impact.

DSR READING
PROGRAM

The DSR Reading Program is committed to increasing access to literature by delivering books to underserved communities and supporting organizations dedicated to student literacy and educational equity.

Our first partnership is with Kachem Young Initiatives (KYI), a nonprofit based in Ebonyi State, Nigeria, that builds and commissions libraries in communities
impacted by war and poverty. Through this collaboration, Dirt-Stained Roses has donated over 200 books, helping to expand access to reading for young girls, boys, and people with disabilities.

With every book, we aim to nurture imagination, spark critical thinking, and support lifelong learning in communities too often overlooked.

DSR Screenwriting Lab

The DSR Screenwriting Lab is an immersive, five-month creative and professional development program that bridges education and real-world production. Designed for emerging storytellers and aspiring TV writers, the Lab guides participants from concept to screen through hands-on workshops, mentorship, and collaborative writing that culminates in a DSR original production.

Throughout the program, participants engage directly with award-winning screenwriters, professional TV writers, and producers, gaining practical insights into story development, writers’ room dynamics, and industry standards. By the Lab’s conclusion, writers will have strengthened their craft, expanded their networks, and contributed to the premiere of an original DSR production.

From classroom to community, Dirt-Stained Roses remains committed to cultivating voices that reflect the depth, diversity, and power of our shared human experience.

DSR COMMUNITY OUTREACH

DSR Community Outreach is an ongoing initiative dedicated to supporting disenfranchised communities through direct action and strategic partnership. We collaborate with organizations, individuals, and causes that align with our mission of equity, care, and social justice.

Our efforts span a wide range of support, including donations of food, clothing, and essential goods; providing school supplies and tutoring; organizing community cleanups; offering career training; and connecting individuals with resources for financial, mental, and physical wellness.

We believe change starts at the ground level—and we’re committed to showing up with intention and impact.
